“WE MUST STAY STRONG”

These senseless tragedies CAN NOT AND MUST NOT define America. It is so sad that another mass shooting/killing has taken place in our country. Hopefully these horrible events will some day fade into history, but I fear not in my lifetime. When the September 11th tragedy took place, I knew right then that our country would change for ever because of it. I never imagined at the time, that mass killings would happen more and more often around the world, but also here in America. The HEROS at the Las Vegas tragedy should continue to define America. We’ve heard story after story about the First Responders that jumped into action even while the shooting was still taking place. We’ve also heard story after story of concert goers that despite the terror that was taking place around them, they too took action to help people who had been injured or were frozen in fear. My sister Debby told me that her son Brian and his wife Jessica had saved their money to attend this concert along with several friends, as a close out the summer special event. She said that they were fairly close to the stage when the first shots began to ring out. They, like most others thought it was fireworks or firecrackers going off, until they started hearing the bullets hitting the stage area. Intense fear sweeps over your body as you realize that this is real. Brian’s wife Jessica was hit in the foot with shrapnal and began to bleed very badly. Brian overcame his fear and quickly went to work stopping the bleeding with his shirt and belt. Brian led their group from Southern California to run, along with some people that they had been talking to at the concert. Debby said that Brian had to literally push some people that were frozen in fear to get them started running. Sadly one of the ladies that they had been talking to seconds before the shooting started, was hit while they were running and died right there. Brian led this group to one of the border fences near the airport, but people could not get over the fence. Somehow with his adrenelin pumping Brian was able to pull a support pole out of the ground, opening up a spot in the fence where people could find safety. When things calmed down they moved Jessica to an ambulance, where Brian helped other people in the ambulance that were also injured. He continued to help people as he could, all night while at the hospital and no he has no medical training.

THE COURAGE AND HEROISM SHOWN BY      BRIAN MOUNT      AND COUNTLESS OTHERS SHOULD CONTINUE TO DEFINE AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
